It was a big surprise to us just how much we enjoyed Bolivia, it’s a real underrated gem. It’s home to the world’s largest salt flat, the Salar de Uyuni, one of the most spectacular sights on the planet, the largest lake in South America, the stunning Lake Titicaca, and the tallest statue of Christ in South America, trumping the more famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio.

Bolivia has the largest percentage of indigenous people among their population of any South American country and its culture is steeped in traditional values. It’s also one of the most budget friendly places on the continent.
